This document summarizes research on improving the performance of iterative Interleave Division Multiple Access (IDMA) systems through optimized power allocation techniques. It compares the performance of coded and uncoded IDMA systems using random interleavers and tree-based interleavers. Simulation results show that tree-based interleavers have similar bit error rate performance as random interleavers but require less bandwidth and memory. The document also describes the IDMA system model, chip-by-chip estimation algorithm, tree-based interleaving mechanism, and power allocation strategy used to optimize system performance.
