Expert directory content structure
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
▪ 1,500 authors listed in this
directory.
▪ Comply with GDPR, clearance
and permission gained
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
▪ The expert information is being
manage using VIVO.
▪ Open source software and an
ontology for representing
scholarship
▪ Enables the discovery of
research and scholarship
across disciplines
▪ Linked open data
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
▪ Details information – profiles, skills,
works, visualization networks -
listed on each expert
▪ Each publication has Altmetrics
score and citation numbers showed
to highlight the popularity of the
publication and how they serve the
users
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
▪ The network graph will visualize relationship
of author collaboration with others expert.
▪ Relationship line thickness is base on number
of publications being collaborate with others
expert
▪ The visualization focus on showing the
connections of the selected person. The
number of joint publications (or grants) will be
shown. Left-clicking on the name will load this
person's profile.
▪ Can export the underlying data as csv files.
Co-authors and publications per year will be
shown in tables at the bottom of the page as
well.
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
▪ Provides a representation of the
research areas of each profile as a
"map of science".
▪ The size of the bubbles on the map
indicates the relative number of
papers in that area. The colors
indicate the subject areas. The
connections on the map indicate the
co-author tendencies of authors in
each of the disciples.
▪ Disciplines are grouped on the map
by co-author tendencies.
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
Current development
▪ Static. Act as a metadata
harvester
▪ Current features is to
encourages outputs
discovery, expert
finding, and network
analysis.
International Tropical Peatlands Center (ITPC)
What next?
▪ Dynamic. Additional function and
feature that made the static directory
becoming more interactive
▪ Inviting data providers to submit their
