 CHARACTERISTICS OF A TEACHER
 Jiddu Krishnamurthy was a philosopher, speaker
and writer.
 He was born in south India in what is now the
modern day Madanapalle of Andhra Pradesh.
 Jiddu Krishnamurthy was brought to England by
Annie Besant(president of the Theophist society)
and educated by her.
 Before death he travelled throughout the world
talking to large audience and need for radical
change in mankind.
 He died on 17 February 1986.

According to his essay ‘The Noisy Child and Silent Mind’
 Noisy children become silent when they do something.
 Education should strive for inner peace and hence bliss.
LEARNING – Source like nature and psychology of
human being.
 Education and discipline
 Education and attention
 Process of learning
 Freedom of learning
 Freedom and responsibility.
According to Jiddu Krishnamurthy,
Freedom in learning means that
the learner has got capacity to
independently observe everything
around him and examine all idea
without any pressure or compulsion.
 Opposed any established system and also the
system of education which was narrow.
 Should bring about total development of the
individual.
Toward this end should be strive for inner peace
and bliss,
There are following points:-
1) School
2) Concentration and attention
3) Process of learning
1) SCHOOL :-
place of learning
 To cultivate good mind, certain
amount of discipline must exist.
 Try to secure an inward grasp of what
is being said.
 Freedom is the essence of thinking.
2) CONCENTRATION & ATTENTION :-
 Former – all our energy is bought to focus on
a particular point.
 Latter – there is no point of focus.
 Attention – no contradiction and no conflict
 Teacher influence and impact the student.
3) PROCESS OF LEARNING :-
 Constant thirst of intelligence should be kept.
 Encourage competition – sustain conflict.
 Complete freedom.
 Teacher’s duty – teacher and learners have
communication with other.

Development of total human being
Development of right understanding
of environment
Re – education
Freedom from ideology
Freedom and Discipline
Vocational training
The development of new technology research
work in education.
Develop work efficiency.
Teacher should use interactive resource or
method while transacting curriculum.
Curriculum should encourage curiosity in the
students.
Curriculum should developed self expression
ability in student.
Curriculum should encourage the interest for
research and development in the student.
 We should not teach the student ‘what to think’
or ‘how to think’. allow him freedom to think
himself.
 Study the child thoroughly and employ such
method that suits best.
 Student should be treated as an equal partner.
 Problem solving and explorative methods should
be encourage.
 Repetition encourage the mind of the child to be
sluggish.

 Teacher should be able to understand the child’s
emotions and sentiments.
 Teacher should know the elementary knowledge
of psychology to learn or study the student.
