John Cabot’s timeline 1450 = John Cabot was born in Genoa, Italy  1461 = He went to Venice to live there and he learned how to sail. 1477 = John Cabot got married to Metta in Venice. 1482 = His son Sebastian was born. 1484 = He moved again this time to Bristol of England. 1496 = King Henry gave John  p ermission to sail to North ,East or West 1497 = He made his first voyage to North America ( the re  were 18 crew men on the ship.) 1498 = John Cabot went to  Japan to organi s e another expedition. 1499 = John Cabot died Contents
John Cabot’s Biography  John Cabot was born in Genoa in 1450,  at  that time his name was Giovanni Caboto. He and his family went to Venice to live there when he was 11. That means it was in 1461. When he got  older in 1477 he got married with a beautiful lady called Mettea. After 15 years in 1482  the  son of John Cabot, Sebasti a n was born. 2 years after Sebasti a n  was  born, they moved to Bristol England, that is the time he called hi m self ‘John Cabot’ . After staying in Bristol England for 12 years, a man called King Henry told John Cabot to go to  the  North, East or West.
John Cabot’s Biography After 1 year in 1497, he had his first voyage to North America . That time, John Cabot had 18 men on the ship  al together  and  the 18 men were his crew. John Cabot wanted to go to Japan to organize another expedition in 1498. After 1  year he died at sea. Contents

Why was John Cabot Significant John Cabot was  s ignificant because he was the second European to discover North America.
Why Did John Cabot travelled to  North America  Because King Henry gave him a grant full of free authorit y , to sail to countries and seas of the East, West and North with 5 ships.  John Cabot left with only 1 vessel ,  a small ship  which  only had 18 men on . I t departed on March 20th of 1497. He sailed to Dursey Head, Ireland, he landed  i n  the   e ast of America on June 24th of 1497. At August 6th of 1497  b ack in England he was well rewarded  with  a pension of 20 pounds a year.
Why did John Cabot travel where he did  John Cabot went to Bristol England to prepare his voyage. He was travelling because he wanted to be like Christopher Columbus, expanding  the  frontier of  the  exploration of Asia.  Contents
