FOSS User Project is a non-profit organization in Sri Lanka dedicated to promoting free and open source software since 2009. Its vision is to develop a free culture through FOSS education and projects. It publishes a free magazine, organizes educational events through its FOSS User Academia program, and supports research projects. Individuals and organizations can get involved through community membership, contributing as volunteers, or applying for internships to gain experience.

- 4. FOSS User Project A not-for-profit, volunteer based organization dedicated to areas related with Free and Open Source Software in Sri Lanka since 2009.
- 5. Vision FOSS User project envisions development of a free culture by promoting Free and Open Source Software, providing FOSS related Knowledge and enabling a framework for FOSS related developments.

FOSS User Magazine ● The first and the only FOSS related magazine in Sri Lanka (ISSN 2012-7650). ● Started in 2010 April and delivered free. ● Release on January, April, July and October. ● From 2012 January : The magazine can be reused and modified for commercial purposes. ● Released under Creative Commons License.
- 12. FOSS User Academia ● Organizes events, initiatives to promote FOSS locally. ● Provides support to students to promote FOSS. ● Initiatives; ● “Path to GSoC 2012” ● FOSSitiveTM ● University Computer Society Partnerships (OUSL, UCSC, FIT UoM) ● “Support Linux”
