- 3. • A module is a block containing content • An article is a page • A component is an object like a banner or newsfeed. • A category is an area of your site or collection of pages. (example: animals) • A template is a ready-made theme for your site.
- 4. • You can use a template to design your site quickly. • Go to extensions>template-manager and change the default template. • You can download free templates from the web then install them using extensions>install. You will need further information from the developer on how to set them up properly.
- 6. In Joomla! a Category is a collection of Articles. In Joomla! a website might have Categories called "Animals" and "Plants". Within the "Animals" Category, the website might have Sub Categories such as "Birds" and "Mammals". Within the "Birds" Category, the website might have Articles such as "Parrots" and "Sparrows". • Animals • Birds • Parrots • Sparrows • Mammals
- 7. • In Joomla! an Article is a piece of content consisting of text (HTML), possibly with links to other resources (for example, images). Articles are the basic units of information in the content system and the bottom level in the content hierarchy. Since Joomla! 2.5 , each Article is in exactly oneCategory. A Category can be in another Category making it a sub Category. It is also possible to have Uncategorised Articles. - 9. It's possible to visualize all modules set on a template by calling the «sitename/?tp=1" query string on the front-end.
- 10. How to install Joomla Components, Modules, etc. • STEP 1. Download some extensions from the http://joomline.ru/ . Make sure you download the complete package for Joomla 3.X.
- 11. Go to your Joomla admin area > Extensions > Install/Uninstall.
- 12. STEP 3. In the Upload Package File section click Browse and locate the archive
- 13. Click Upload File & Install to upload the file and complete the installation.
