The social setting shows a group of students having a tutorial session with their lecturer within the
campus. Normally tutorials are carried out in classrooms but in this picture, it is located outside the
classroom.
Based on the picture, the social cognition can be interpreted in such that the students look bored as
did not enjoy the tutorial as it was exposed to the sun. This can be related to self-fulfilling
prophecies. The students believe that having a tutorial is rather bring even though the setting has
changes. So no matter what, it will eventuallybe boring as what they think will become true.
The students have a perception that tutorials heldin classrooms are a norm. So when they are
brought to the outdoors, they could not adapt. This can be related to representative heuristics. The
students are comparing this setting to an existingsetting which are already in their minds, the
classroom. They think that the existingone is more professional and conducive for tutorials rather
than the outdoors. Their judgements are affected by their existingthoughts.
