TDR programme of WHO Caption:   Leaves from Maesa balansae, a tea-like bush which grows on hillsides. PX6518, a compound produced from the leaves of the plant shows promise as an anti-leishmania compound. Bags of leaves are sent to Hanoi, where the active compound is extracted and semi-purified.
