This document analyzes data sources for measuring the cultural and creative sectors in the EU. It finds that while Eurostat provides some official statistics, there are still gaps. Alternative sources like cultural observatories, associations, and big data can help fill these gaps. Three scenarios are proposed: 1) Continuing Eurostat's work to ensure basic statistics; 2) Building capacity and cooperation through a virtual platform and leadership board; 3) Establishing a cultural and creative sectors observatory to improve alternative data collection and develop new methodologies.
