Air India, founded in 1932 by JRD Tata as Tata Airlines, is India's national flag carrier and the fourth largest airline in the country. It was the first Asian airline to introduce jet aircraft and currently operates over 110 aircraft across more than 90 destinations with a workforce of over 20,000 employees. Air India merged with Indian Airlines in 2006 and is known for its service mascot, the Maharaja.
