GUARD MOUNTING AND
RANK AND FILE INSPECTION FORMATION
Below is a guide that combines both English and Filipino
command terminologies—with definitions—that are typically
used during the inspection and formation (or “rank file”)
portion of guard mounting. This reference is designed to
ensure clear communication and uniformity during these
procedures.
GUARD MOUNTING AND
RANK AND FILE INSPECTION FORMATION
I. Guard Mounting Overview
Definition:
Guard mounting is the formal process in which duty is
assumed or transferred at a designated security post. It
involves the systematic formation of security personnel,
inspection of their uniforms, equipment, and proper rank
display, and the ceremonial exchange of responsibility. This
procedure not only ensures operational readiness but also
reinforces discipline and accountability.

II. Protocol & Administrative Policy
A. Administrative Policy and Procedures
Pre-Mounting Preparation:
oBriefing and Assignment: Incoming guards receive a briefing
detailing any changes, alerts, or specific instructions. Each guard is

proper uniform with all required gear (e.g., weapons, communication
devices) inspected before assuming duty.
GUARD MOUNTING AND
RANK AND FILE INSPECTION FORMATION
oReporting: Once formation is complete, a headcount and status
report are given (e.g., “NARITO PO LAHAT” in Filipino, meaning “All
present”) and documented in the duty log for accountability.
Post-Mounting Actions:
oDocumentation: Detailed reports on the inspection and formation
are filed for administrative records.
oFeedback and Correction: Any deficiencies found during inspection
are immediately corrected, and corrective actions are communicated
to the respective personnel.

B. Chain of Command and Communication
Clear Command Structure: Every order, from formation to saluting,
follows a strict chain of command to ensure swift and coordinated
