Kidblog tutorial
- 1. How to use kidblog.org By: Sidra Meah
- 2. Open browser and go to www.kidblog.org
- 3. If you are a teacher signup first.
- 4. Sign up with google or create a different account.
- 5. After successfully signing up…….
- 6. …You will come to this page.
- 7. Create New Class (it is an online classroom)
- 8. Name your class and give a brief description
- 9. 30 day free trial (watch 3-min video for more information)
- 10. Now that you have created a class, click “Enter a join-code” on the top right corner
- 11. Click “enable” where it says “Role: student”… you will see a code that your students will use to log in.
- 12. You will see this sample post on your home page… click edit on the top right corner
- 13. You can now edit this post and write a welcome note for your students.
- 14. Scroll down and you can change background settings as well as title fonts. Ones you are done click “update”
- 15. Your welcome post is now ready. This is where you can find your students.
- 16. To upload or create a post, click “New post”….
- 17. You will now come to this page
- 18. To add header image… choose a file from “My computer” or other options on the left.
- 19. After you have chosen an image click “Insert”
- 20. Now you have a header image. Click on Post Title.
- 21. Edit your “post title”
- 22. You can either type your post or upload it from online platforms such as google drive
- 23. Choose the appropriate file for the blog post
- 24. Click “publish” on the top right…
- 25. Choose your audience. If you click teachers: only you can view your post. If you click classmates: your students can view your post as well. If you make it public: everyone can view it, also those who are not in your classroom.
- 26. You have now created two blog posts.(Teacher)
- 27. If you are a student: click on “Enter your class code”
- 28. Enter the class code your teacher provided (class code: 8h5bhqg)
- 29. Now signup with just your name and password. (E-mail is not required)
- 30. Click sign up.
- 31. After you have successfully logged in you will see this page. Click on Ms. Meah’s class.
- 32. Click on “welcome to your classroom blog” post on your teacher’s page
- 33. Read the welcome note
- 34. If you like, scroll down and leave your teacher a comment.
- 36. You can go back to your home page by clicking Ms. Meah’s class. For (students to create a blog post, click on the top right corner “New Post”
- 37. You can add header image, write a post, give it a title and insert links/ images and even upload files from your computer.
- 38. You now created a new post. Your teacher will be able to view your posts.
- 39. However, the next time you log in to your blog, click Login on the top right.
- 40. Search for your class my entering your teacher’s e-mail address. Then click Go.
- 41. Click on the link that comes up.
- 42. Enter your name and password to log in.
- 43. Ones you are done with your work….
- 44. Click on your name on the top right and then click log out.
- 45. kidblog • Kid blog allows both teachers and students to integrate technology into their everyday teaching and learning practices. • It is a kid friendly site since teachers are in charge and can view student activity. • Students get to use technology in ways that is beneficial for them in the future. • Students are introduced to technological words such as (login, password) • The concept of blogging is good for writing / typing practice • Students get to demonstrate creative thinking.
