Kirby Langseth, a senior at Deer Park High School, visited to share his experiences as the older brother of a sibling with autism. He discussed learning to accept his brother for who he is, teaching friends to include his brother in activities, and appreciating others' compassion. Kirby also spoke about working with students with intellectual disabilities throughout his school career. As a popular student, his influence encourages peers to be inclusive, which benefits special education students.

- 1. Meet in the Middle<br />Kirby Langseth – senior<br />Thursday, Feb. 4th, we had a very special visit from Kirby Langseth, a senior at Deer Park High School. Kirby is the older sibling of a brother with Autism. He shared his experiences such as learning to accept his brother for who he is, teaching his friends how to include him in activities, and valuing the compassion of others towards him. He also shared about other opportunities he has had to work with students with intellectually disabilities throughout his school career. Kirby is a very popular young man, so his influence with his peers pays big dividends. He was very motivational and has agreed to share again with our entire campus during our Erase the R Word campaign.<br />Students of all abilities listen to Kirby share.
