Ladder 37 Familiarization

Goal
• To acquaint our members with the controls
  and operation of reserve Ladder 37. After
  successfully completing this training, and the
  provided handouts, members will be certified
  to operate Ladder 37.
Objectives
• Through presentation and hands-on practice,
  the Firefighter will become familiar with the
  control layout and operation on Ladder 37.

• Given different scenarios, the Firefighter will
  gain familiarity with the operation of Ladder
  37 by successfully completing a series of
  operational sets.
Objectives (cont)
• Given a scenario handout, and working as a
  team, the shift will complete a ladder pipe
  scenario in 5 minutes or less.

• Through presentation and hands-on practice,
  the Firefighter will become familiar with, and
  operate the auxiliary equipment and power
  tools on Ladder 37.

• Do Not Operate in Winds in Excess of 35 mph

• Beware and Allow for Icing

• Slowed Operation in Cold Weather

   – 5 min on/ 10 min off

   – EMERGENCY USE ONLY!

     Unless Jacks Are Set
