Problem statement
Company Context
Listening skill is the ability to accurately
receive and interpret messages in the
communication process. It involves actively
paying attention to what is being said,
understanding the speaker’s message, and
responding thoughtfully. Effective listening
requires focus, patience, and the ability to
avoid distractions or interrupting the
speaker. It is a key component in
communication, enabling better
relationships, learning, and collaboration.
DEFINITION
Challenge 1
COMPONENTS
● Hearing: The physical process of receiving sound through the ears.
It is the first step in listening but is passive in nature.
❖ Attention: The ability to focus on the speaker and the message being conveyed, avoiding
distractions.
● Understanding: Interpreting and making sense of the words, phrases, and ideas presented by
the speaker, including grasping the context and meaning.
❖ Remembering: Retaining the information heard for future reference, which helps in responding
accurately or acting on the information later.
● Responding: Providing appropriate feedback through verbal or non-verbal cues, showing that the
message has been received and understood.

SPEAKING SKILL :
Problem statement
Company Context
Speaking skill is the ability to effectively
communicate orally by expressing ideas,
thoughts, and feelings clearly and fluently. It
involves a range of competencies, such as
pronunciation, vocabulary usage, sentence
construction, tone modulation, and the
ability to engage listeners. Strong speaking
skills also include understanding the
context, adjusting speech for different
audiences, and using non-verbal cues like
body language to support communication.
DEFINITION
Challenge 1
COMPONENTS
★ Pronunciation: The ability to produce sounds, stress patterns, and
intonations correctly, making speech understandable and pleasant to
listeners.
➔ Fluency: The capacity to speak smoothly, without undue hesitation or
pauses, and to maintain a natural flow in conversation.
★ Vocabulary: A rich and varied range of words that enables speakers to
convey their message accurately and appropriately for the context.
➔ Pacing and Rhythm: The control of speed, pauses, and emphasis during
speech to ensure proper communication and comprehension.
★ Listening and Interaction: Engaging in two-way communication by actively
listening to others and responding appropriately to maintain a
productive conversation.

READING SKILL ;
Reading skill is the ability to comprehend,
interpret, and analyze written texts effectively. It
involves decoding words, understanding
sentence structures, and grasping the meaning
behind the content. Strong reading skills enable
individuals to extract information, recognize key
ideas, and make connections between different
parts of a text. These skills also encompass the
ability to read with fluency, accuracy, and
proper pacing, allowing for a deeper
understanding of both literal and implied
meanings in a text.
Reading development typically begins at a young age,
progressing through several stages. In the early stages, young
learners engage in "pre-reading" activities, where they
recognize letters and sounds. As children become more
familiar with words, they move on to decoding, which involves
sounding out words to build fluency.
In the intermediate stages, students work on improving their
reading comprehension. This includes understanding the main
idea of a text, identifying supporting details, and making
inferences. By the time students reach advanced stages, they
are expected to read critically, evaluate information, and
compare different sources to form independent opinions.
