This document presents a study on a laser ignition system conducted by five students for their Bachelor of Technology degree. It discusses the background of laser ignition systems and their advantages over conventional spark plug ignition systems. The students conducted experiments on a laser ignition system installed on a test engine and analyzed the results in terms of combustion stability, fuel consumption, power output and exhaust emissions. They found that the laser ignition system performed better than the spark ignition system. The document also discusses future applications and research opportunities for laser ignition systems.
