Ziqitza is an ambulance service operating in India through public-private partnerships. To understand if it was reaching the poor, Ziqitza conducted customer insight calls with 1,000 recent users. It found that 76% of callers in the states of Punjab and Odisha live on under $2.50 per day, indicating it is meeting its social mission of helping the poor. The surveyed population was generally poorer than state averages, except in rural Odisha. Ziqitza also found it has a disproportionate impact on women in Punjab, with 43% of calls related to pregnancies and child health.
