Lesson 3 energy conversions
- 2. Energy can be converted form one form to another. Energy is never lost. There are some examples of energy conversions: Electrical energy Light or solar energy Kinetic energy Chemical energy
- 3. Electrical energy: can be converted into light, sound, heat or Kinetic Energy. A toaster transform electrical energy into heat energy . Light and Solar energy: can be converted into electrical energy. This happened in solar calculators.
- 4. Kinetic Energy: can be converted into electrical energy. When you ride a bicycle, the kinetic energy you generate by pedaling can be converted into electrical energy by dynamo. The electrical energy lights the bicycle's lamps. Chemical energy. Can be converted into kinetic energy and heat energy. This happens when fuel burns in car engines, for example.
- 5. One of the biggest changes energy produces is movement. An object moves when it changes its position.
- 6. All moving objects follow a path. The path is the route the object takes when it moves.
- 7. The speed of the movement tell us how far an object moves in a given time. Some movements have a constant speed. Sometimes the speed of movement changes, such as when a car rolls down a ramp. This is called acceleration
