My Reflection & Insights
My chosen topic was all about Circles: Chords, Arcs and Central Angles. Discussing this topic,
all materials should be ready first. The needed material are: Books, Projector, and Laptop or Cellphone,
Blackboard/ Chalk, Board Compass and Protractor, Cartolina or Colored paper (to be cut out by
students), and Scissor.
Books will serve as reference of the students and teacher also in learning and teaching process
about the given topic. Hence, they have different personality and learning styles. The
Blackboard/Chalk, Projector and Laptop or Cellphone will take charge on visual material to catch the
interests of the students especially to those visual-spatial learners. While Cartolina or colored paper and
scissor, its uses for the application of what they have learned. Both group and individual learners had
given an activity. The teacher must utilize a variety of teaching strategies, activities, and assignments
to accommodate the needs of students with diverse learning styles, abilities, backgrounds, and
experiences.
The topic I have chosen was based on the K-12 Curriculum Guide in Mathematics. The topic
selected was about Circles: Chords, Arcs and Central Angles. This topic was already taught from
Elementary (Basic) to College (Comprehensive) especially where I am studying now. At present I am
much confident to present or discussed it in my future learners. To enhance the delivery of this lesson I
have to create a slide presentation that shows three dimensional (3D) objects to visualize all of its
properties and function. Aside from this all learners shall make a cut out paper and assemble it
according to the given activities. And also the students have an opportunity to show their
technological skill or likewise I can teach them too.
Having Technological Knowledge (TK) the teacher can easily discuss the lessons thru the help
of computers (Projector, Laptop or Cellphone, and a slide presentation); using technology in a
teaching-learning process you can save time, reduce frustration, access information efficiently, feel
more confident and comfortable. It can also help students increase their understanding of complex
concepts or encourage collaboration among peers. By Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), I can teach the
lesson effectively because of the strategies or methods that will help to get the attention of the students
and to help the student to understand the lesson easily. Lastly, having a mastery of the subject or
selected topics the teaching-learning experience will be efficiently. You have a comprehensive skills
and ability to tackle the subjects. In short, you have so called the Content Knowledge (CK). The
combination of these three knowledge you will get the best results or should I say it will have an
effective teaching.
