Warm up (10 minutes)
Purpose: To begin the lesson and create a comfortable atmosphere; to introduce
the students to the topic.
We’ll enter the classroom and we’ll greet each other. Students will sit in their seats.
To begin the lesson I will came back to some of the thing we talked about in the
precious lesson. “Well, in the last lesson we talked about ourselves. I told you some
things about me and you told me something about you, remember? I know Macarena
wants to be a teacher of English, and Claudio a teacher of History. I can also
remember that Eve likes Physical Education and she would like to be a teacher too.
Can you remember what my dream job is and what do I like?” Students will answer
what they know about me. Today I would like to know something more about you. I
would like to know about your pleasures”
Transition: “Let’s find out your pleasures!”
Presentation (15 minutes)
Purpose: To Expose the students to the language; to enhance students’
communicative skills and to develop or improve comprehensive skills.
I will give the students a photocopy of a word cloud in which they will find different
activities and things that can be related with the things they like. They will read
them and I will ask them about the things they like and dislike.
Transition: “I want to know about you now!”
Development (20 minutes)
Purpose: to develop communicative skills; to foster interaction and to check
students’ knowledge of new vocabulary.
Activity 1: Students will have to answer the following questions about themselves.
They can use the activities they find in the word cloud and they can also use other
activities they like. I will answer the fist questions about me on the blackboard so
they can use it as example.
1- What make you happy?
2- What do you enjoy?
3- What are you good at?
4- What can’t you get enough of?
5- What would you do even if you didn’t get paid for it?
6- You would regret if you died without doing this!
7- If you had unlimited money and a week to live, what would you do?
8- What was your favorite thing to do as a kid?
Transition: “Great! Let’s share your pleasures!”
Closure (15 minutes)
Purpose: to raise students’ motivation.
At this stage, students will share the information about their pleasures. “Great job!
See you next class!”
