Anil: Kindly explain how DevOps is different from agile methodology. Luis: For me DevOps is an evolution of Agile. DevOps comes with some needs Agile has no real answers. This needs are related to Operations. ITIL and LEAN joined to Agile can configure the DevOps culture where time is very important. DevOps is a culture that moves the organization towards CI/CD where Sprints, Demos, and so on are not as flexible as DevOps could offer. Anil: What keeps you interested in learning technology? Luis: I have been working in technology my whole life. I’m a strong believer of Technology is the key for helping the human being to do better things and to help the humanity to achieve incredible goals.

Luis: For me there are only three phases in DevOps: Team : Help the team to create a Safe Space where all the creativity is the focus in Continuous Improvement. To achive this goal, the team should Automate as much as they can and, with this automation, get free time for thinking and being creative. Observability : Value Stream is the way where the Continuous Improvement comes from. VS is the path where things go through, and it should be measured to try to improve these metrics as much as it is possible. Quaility, Security and Assurance: We, the whole world, use technology in our smartphones for whatever we want, do not have patience. It means we should work to move to production all these things we could measure in a huge amount of security. It’s going to work almost perfectly. It means the whole team should work to ensure the product’s quality, and the team must be trained on this. Anil: Mention a few of the primary advantages of DevOps. Configuration is essential for being in a unique role. Avoiding Single Point of Failure. Anil: What do you look for in technical blogs published online? Luis: Opinions, experiences and mostly new tools. There are a bunch of new tools every week in the market and I love the brave ones who test the tools and share their experience. Anil: What is AWS’s role in DevOps? Luis: AWS for me is just a tool where to do things I not going to do on my DataCenter. AWS is a vendor in the same way is GCP or Azure. Anil: What are the DevOps anti-patterns? Luis: It’s weird because anti-pattern is a pattern. If you want to call anti-pattern to a fast reparation, you could do it but it’s a pattern when a stressed team shows this behavior without using the lesson learned to resolve the issue for continuous improvement activities.
