Create Fact Sheets about two endangered animals

LET’S CREATE!
WRITING, PART
PURPOSE:
You have decided to be a volunteer in a wild animal rescue centre.
One of your duties in the centre is to create the animals’ fact sheets, in order to describe their characteristics
and abilities, so that, visitors from all parts of Peru and the world can know more about them.
Option A: Facts sheets about Jaguars and Felipe, the dolphin
 Step 1: Read the information about the most popular endangered animals that live in ‘‘Jungle Life”
rescue centre. Then, complete the profiles with at least one more characteristic and one more ability
then, complete each of them with at least two more activities and characteristics.

Option B: Fact sheets about two endangered animals from your region
 Step 1: Research about two endangered animals from your region.
 Step 2: Organise the characteristics of each animal in this chart.
 Step 3: Create a quote about protecting our wildlife. Follow the examples:
 Wild animals are not pets.
 Animals shouldn’t live in cages.
 Monkeys should live free!
 Step 4: Write a short introduction of yourself as a volunteer of the rescue centre.
 Step 5: Write the animals’ fact sheets including pictures of them.

COMPETENCE:
 Write different types of text in English as a Foreign Language
CAPACITY:
 Adapt the text in English to the communicative situation
PERFORMANCE:
 Adapt the text that you write in English to the communicative situation considering the textual type, some
characteristics of the discursive genre, the format, the support and the purpose. Example: Write the animals’
fact sheets including pictures of them using Los verbos: “can”, “can’t”, “have” y “has” correctly.
ACTIVITIES:
Individually:
A. You can do it using the computer, using Microsoft Word, Power Point or any other app of your choice .
B. Remember to use the Internet or apps with the help or permission of a responsible adult.
C. You can write your text using appropriate adjectives and the verbs “have” and “has” also the verbs of
actions and “can” and “can’t” in English correctly in a simple text.
D. Write a first draft of the text and then revise if it has the characteristics below.
E. You should take into consideration to write this text the following characteristics:
