For the counsellingsceneswe usedthree-pointlighting Three pointlightingisamethodor a type of lightingsetupwhere youhave three distinctlightsource positionstoilluminateasubjectina scene.The placementof the lightsinthe setuphelpscreate differentmoodsforyourimage. The keylightisthe mainsource of lightand isthe brightestlightinthe scene.Itgivesthe scene and subjectit’soverall exposure.Usually,it’splacedinfrontof the subject.The fill lightisdimmerthanthe keylightandis usedtofill inanyshadowscreatedbythe keylight.The fill lightworkstogetherwithyour keylighttodetermine the moodof the image.Finally,the backlight,it’susuallyplacedbehindthe subject,sometimesoff toone side,directlybehindoroverheadbutstill behindthe subject.Itisusedto create separationbetweenthe subjectandthe backgroundsothat theydon’tdisappearintoit. Usingthis lighting,helpedtomake the roomlooklight, airy,andinviting,justlikeacounsellor’sroom wouldlooklike.Ithinkthe effectwe achievedwasnice. I didsome testshots,such as practicingsome zoomandpans, to see how theylightwouldfollow,also on cast whilsttheywasrunninglinestocheckforanyobviousshadowsthatformed. Sounddesign: For music,I will needawide range.Ineedup-beatdance musicforthe performance pieces,butIalso needcontrastingdramaticintense music,tofill the intense sections.Thiswill hopefullygive avarietyof upsand downsinthe shortfilmandwill helptotell missgendered’sstory.ForsoundeffectsIwill need audience cheers,doorslamsandbackgroundnoise,foranyof the audiothat got lost,or wasslightly muffled.Withoutthe music,Ifeel thatthe shortfilmwouldn’thave the same effectandthe meaning may getlost,the musichelpstokeepthe audience engagedthroughout.Musicisespeciallyimportant throughoutmyshort film,asdrag isall about performingwhichinvolvesmusic.
