The document describes the structure and organization of the liver. The liver contains lobules that are organized in three patterns - classic, portal, and liver acinus. The classic lobule is hexagonal in shape with a central vein in the middle and a portal triad at the boundaries. Portal lobules connect three central veins in a triangle shape. Liver acini are diamond shaped and bordered by two central veins and portal triads. Within the lobules, blood flows through sinusoids while bile flows in bile canaliculi, which is between hepatocytes and bounded by tight junctions, in the opposite direction to blood towards the bile ducts. Lymph flows within the space of disse, located between hepatocytes and sin
