Unit 22: Task Two
Generate ideas and plan the script for a media product, in response to a client brief.
SCRIPT TITLE:
Temptation in glass
WHAT IS THE SCRIPT FOR?
This script is for an action comedy film.
The production company is Film 4
BRIEF & WHAT YOU WILL PRODUCE
I’ll be producing a script for my original film idea based on my marketing campaign. My script
will target young adults who have a taste for comedy. I will be developing a narrative that will be
appealing to both male and female audiences from their teens to those in their 30s. My film has a
diverse cast with both genders represented in the main roles. One of my characters is in their 20s
as the other is a cat. My script will have a 15 certificate.
CONTENT
Broom likes to wander and because his elderly owner is rich and loves him a lot they hire a
bodyguard for him, after some time the owner dies of old age and leaves the cat for the
bodyguard in her will. ( Broom doesn’t talk, the audience will know about his emotions through
body language and facial expressions.)
The bodyguard has to find a new job now and can’t supervise him 24/7 so she figures she will let
him roam around by himself, he gets into trouble stealing fish from fish markets and being an
overall nuisance to the neighborhood.
She finally gives up and locks the cat inside so he destroys the house. ( the guards name is Yuko)
Yuko decides to sell Broom but dosen’t know what kind of people she sold him to. The people
that buy him did it for his fur. They are unethical pelt dealers.
Broom gets locked in a tiny cage with other animals around him but manages to escape the
dealers home-alone style. He runs away, narrowly avoiding getting hit by Yuko’s car and goes
back home with her. Broom figures living with her is better than being skinned so he decides to
accept his new life.
GENRE
Action- comedy, this genre will be conveyed through the plot and character personalities,
inspired by films such as Garfield and Nine Lives as well as Polish comedies.
LANGUAGE TO BE USED & WHY
My script will use elaborate code as it’s a comedy film therefore its purpose is to entertain rather
than inform. The dialogue of my characters will include some slang relevant to todays generation
inspired by popular social media trends. The mode of address will be indirect and the language
will be informal to conform to classic comedy film conventions.
I will be using language that is closely associated with comedy movies such as “HAHAHA- uh
oh.” Laughter followed by a sudden switch in tone to indicate brief success that is met with
instant negative karma.
NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
Unit 22: Task Two
Generate ideas and plan the script for a media product, in response to a client brief.
T My film will follow the usual 3 act structure, introducing a main character, introducing that
character with an obstacle or problem finished by a resolution to that problem. The main focuses
will be Broom and Yuko, because they will be separated during the midpoint of the film,
therefore it will be multi stranded showing both characters viewpoints during the same timeline.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Unit 22: Task Two

LOCATION & STYLE MOODBOARD

with a main character who is in her 20s. I have used classic films such as Nine Lives, Home
Alone and Garfield as inspiration, catering to both the younger and older sides of the audience
with the message being similar to those in the films I mentioned, acceptance and equality.
