ConvenPons  of   Rhetorical  quesPon  to   interest  the  reader  and   to  get  the  reader   thinking  about  the   magazine,  which  makes   want  to  know  more   about  the  arPc  monkeys   and  what  they  are  up  to.   Front  Cover  image   Masthead   Barcode   Missing  convenPons:     Strapline,  which  is   important  as  it  describes   the  magazine  and  to  the   passive  audience.   Star  appeal
  • 9. The  target  audience  for  this  magazine  will  be  teenagers  as  teenagers  are  more  interested  in  alternaPve  rock   and  indie.  In  terms  of  Hartley  these  magazines  are  perfect  for  social  climbers  as  they  want  to  know  what's   happening  and  talk  about  it  to  their  group  and  are  more  likely  to  promote  the  magazine  towards  the  other   teens  who  hear  about  the  magazine  from  the  social  climbers.  While  survivors  want  the  security  of  knowing   their  band  who  may  have  broken  up  have  come  back  together,  for  which  they  will  by  the  magazine  and  will   thereby  become  a  social  climber  as  they  will  announce  if  their  favorite  band  has  broken  up  or  come  together,   to  their  friends.  When  applying  to  Maslow  age  will  really  majer  as  there  is  only  a  certain  age  range  that  will   buy  my  magazine,  which  is  16-‐28  (as  this  is  the  Pme  they  will  feel  their  rock/indie  vibe).  Gender  does  not  a   concern  for  the  audience  as  both  genders  seem  to  like,  the  general  rock/indie  music,  so  the  will  also  like  my   magazine.  This  also  applies  to  class,  naPon  and  family  as  well  as  people  of  all  classes,  naPon  like  rock/indie   magazine.  But  I  think  that  ethnicity  and  self  image  of  the  audience  majer.  Ethnicity  majers  as  not  all  ethnicity   like  rock/indie  music  as  some  prefer  rap  and  hip-‐hop  music.  I  think  that  self  image  majer  as  the  audience   model  themselves  around  the  arPsts  they  like  and  therefore  will  like  my  magazine  as  they  will  be  shown  many   image  of  their  favorite  arPsts.  For  Katz  I  think:  Personal  relaPonship,  inform  and  educate  and  diversion  were   the  most  important  out  of  the  4.  I  choose  personal  relaPonship  as  through  interviews  about  the  arPst(s)  or   though  the  the  cover  lines  of  the  magazine,  the  audience,  over  Pme  through  the  magazine  learns  more   informaPon  about  the  arPst(s),  such  as:  what  they  do  while  not  wriPng  or  recording  songs  or  where  they  are   going  next  or  who  they  are  going  to  collaborate  in  their  new  album  which  leads  to  inform  and  educate.  I   included  diversion  as  the  audience  will  escape  from  their  Presome  reality,  into  the  text,  having  a  face  to  face   chat  and  imagine  the  arPst(s)  talking  back  to  them  as  they  feel  themselves  becoming  the  interviewer,   interviewing  the  arPst(s).   Star  appeal  is  the  unique  selling  point  of  my  magazine  magazine,  as  the  passive  audience  expect   to  see  their  favorite  band  on  the  front  cover  of  the  magazine.
