- 1. Self-Evaluation By working with Reflective Practice Guidance Logsassignment, I more understand how important to useguidanceto influence the children's behavior.I also gained a lot effective knowledge from these practices. One of my strengths is I had reviewed all the class notes and read part of book. This gives me some previous knowledge in the areas of direct and redirect guidance. The more important thing is that I learned each child is unique. They have their own development piece and different temperament, Such as having difficult separate with parent in the morning, transition time and meet stranger anxiety, and so on. So that, I need careful observe children’s behavior, analyses the situation and choose appropriate guidance strategy. My weakness of this assignment is hard to make children understand what I am talking. I knew there are just infants. And it is very essential to understand children’s development level. They may not capable understand the long sentence. So I try to make my word as sample and short as I can. Sometimes, I still felt to express my meaning to the child. So I took advice from my ECE teacher, make my words as clear and short as I can, may be just one or two key words. Because infants are too young to understand what the whole sentence mean. Otherwise, after finish assignment I have learned that the goal of guidance is to help the child become self-directed, happy, fully functioning individuals. We should respected children’s growth piece. 11
