The document presents a QoS-oriented distributed routing protocol (QOD) designed to enhance the quality of service in hybrid wireless networks, which integrate mobile ad hoc networks and infrastructure networks. QOD addresses challenges such as invalid resource reservation and race conditions by transforming packet routing into a resource scheduling problem and includes several algorithms aimed at reducing transmission delays and improving throughput. Analytical and simulation results suggest that QOD offers significant performance improvements in overhead, mobility resilience, and scalability compared to existing systems.
