- 1. MASTHEAD Dateline Main Picture Kicker Selling Line Explanatory Kicker Explanatory Kicker Explanatory This is the masthead. The title of my magazine will be ‘Higher’, it will be in jet black and in Broadway font. The font size will be in 125pt as I want it to stand out and capture my audience. If I don’t have enough room on my image to display a title fully, like Harper’s Bazaar the masthead will merge in front and behind the model. The main colour scheme of my magazine will be monochrome, which is simple yet stylish. But will have the occasional splashes of colour to make the headers stand out more. The main picture is of Hana. She is holding a folder and bag in order to look like a stereotypical school girl. I decided to place her in front of a white wall so i can easily edit in different backgrounds. The photo will be changed to Black and White and i will also edit the light and contrast to enhance the image and to change the style of it, in order for it to fit into my magazine colour scheme. The dateline will be in Broadway font and in size 14pt. The selling line will read, ‘ Your monthly happenings’. I decided to change the font to ‘Georgia’ to add more variety within my magazine. It will be in size 18pt and italic. The first kicker will read, ‘How to get A’s’ and will then in the explanatory say , ‘Past Students Advice’ this will be in dark red, Broadway font size 55, where the explanatory text will be in a creamy colour, size 21 in Georgia font. The 2 nd Kicker will also be the same design to the above Kicker and will read ‘New Building!’ and the explanatory text will read ‘Photo’s Inside...’. This is the main kicker and will read ‘6 th Form Fashion’. It is the main kicker as it is placed in the middle of the front cover. The explanatory text will then read ‘Current New Styles’ This will also be in the same colour scheme and fonts as the previous kicker’s but it will be slight change to the others. The font size is in 55pt.
