What is marketing
automation?Marketing automation is the use of software to
automate your marketing processes.
For example, sending a new customer opt in a
welcome email at first and then automatically
sending the subsequent emails (like an email
course) after.

What is marketing
automation?Marketing automation makes your life much
more easier.
It sends your emails for you while you sleep.


Fill out the information
needed
And click on
“create my account”

Now you’re all signed up! 

Let’s create your
first opt in form for mailerlite

This is the form where your
customers will put in their
information
i.e. name, email address

Click on webforms

Click on add new webform

Enter your
form name
And select
embed form
in website

Click on save
and continue

Select the
subscriber
group you
will put your
subscriber in

Then click on
save and
continue

It will take you to this page

Turn double opt in on

What is double opt in?
• a double email opt-in sign-up requires that a subscriber must
confirm their opt in request twice.
• The first time is when the subscriber submits their email
address on your opt in form.
• After the initial request is received by the email list software,
a special confirmation email is sent to the address the person
input into the form.
• This is the second opt-in.

Why choose double opt in?
According to entrepreneurs-journey.com
• The double opt-in confirms that the person who entered their
email address actually wants to subscribe to the list. If this
extra confirmation is not present (single opt-in) then any
person could enter any email address to sign-up any other
person.
• Using a double opt-in list is extremely important for keeping
the quality of your email list high.
• Most important is – it reduces spam complaints.

your sign up

Put in your
button text here

• Then you put in
your thank you
message here
• If you have a
thank you page
for your website,
you can put it
here

You can add the
name so you can
also collect your
subscriber’s name

Select confirmation
email

Click here to edit your confirmation email
subject

Click here to edit the email address to where
your email to your subscriber would come from

Click here to edit how your email will look like

Click here to
modify your
confirmation
thank you
page

If you have a freebie like an ebook or video,
Put the link on this page

It would also be better if you set up an
automated email sending them the link

To do it, choose automation

Then click on – create new autoresponder

Select – when a new subscriber joins this list

Set it up – put in the subject & who the email is
from

Select a template or create your own for the
email

I usually use the drag and drop editor for this

Set up your email

Then click on Done editing

select the
subscriber
group you
want to send
the email to

Then click on
next

Turn on your automation by clicking here

And you’re done!
