Solution Overview
Many organizations struggle to manage and optimize their voice infrastructures actual requirement
compared to the devices already deployed.
A simple requirement is that management needs to analyze the need of optimum number of Cisco IP
Phones deployed for users in the enterprise. Callers report that often they do not reach a human on
trying to contact the organization.
The enterprise management may have the feeling that some staff are not logging into the phone system
to avoid calls.
To have an answer to all the above a MIS system if present can help the management to analyse the
situation.
Hence the requirement of an MIS system for which gives the below information
1) Historical reporting for individual user EM login
2) Historical reporting for individual user EM logout
3) Historical reporting for individual time logged in
 PARSEC’s “User EM based Login Logout MIS ( ELLM in short ) ” application for Cisco CUCM
will catch the user’s Extension Mobility login/logout actions and dump the information into the
application database


User login duration

The application will also provide a summary report of all users
-Total Login duration date wise
- Current status of user ( Logged In/Logged Out)
Historical reporting
for individual user
EM login
For selected user : Application will list out every successful login (login time)
to user’s Cisco IP Phone using Extension Mobility feature
For the selected user: The application will list out every successful manual
logout (logout time) from User’s phone using Extension Mobility feature
For selected user: Application will list out total logged in time in user’s phone
using Extension Mobility feature.
For selected user: Application will list out the Device Name on which he was
logged in

For selected user: Application will list out the Device Type on which he was
logged in
 PARSEC’s ELLM application will be a windows based application
 PARSEC’s ELLM application will be deployed in an independent windows based server which will
integrate with the enterprise Cisco CUCM
 Application related administration will be done by the application administrator using ELLM
Application web based interface.
 MS SQL 2012 database to be used for the application
 The user login & logout actions (Extension mobility users) in Cisco IP Phones for CUCM will be
captured and dumped into application Db
 Device name on which the user had logged in will be dumped into application Db
 Device type on which the user had logged in will be dumped into application Db
 The enterprise CUCM is assumed to be synchronized with LDAP
 The user information will be imported by the application DB-Import module into application database
from CUCM EndUser table
 Application administrator will be able to view reports for all users using application web based
interface
 The user login/logout historical report can be downloaded in CSV file format
System Requirements
PARSEC’s application will reside in an independent windows based server to be provided by
customer
The application server should be in the same enterprise network in which the CUCM & Cisco IP
Phones are present.
Application server configuration
One application server will be required for each cluster
Intel Xeon Quad Core 2.3 +
RAM: 8 GB+, HDD: 70 GB+
OS: Windows Server Standard 2012 64 Bit
VMware supported- VMware ESXI 5.5
Other Software: JAVA JRE 1.8, Tomcat 8.x
Database: MS SQL 2012 (MS SQL Software & License has to be provided by customer. Customer
to provide a preinstalled instance of MS SQL Server to PARSEC team at the time application
commissioning)
