about perimeter
and four-sided
shapes?

Read, analyze and solve the story
problem.
Problem: Mang Pedro planted his
vegetable garden with varieties of
vegetable seedlings for his family. His
garden is in a shape of parallelogram with
a length of 50 m and a width of 20 m.
What is the total distance around Mang
Pedro’s vegetable garden?
MATH 4_Q1_WEEK3 powerpoint presentations
Answer the following questions:
1. What did Mang Pedro do to his vegetable
garden?
2. Why did he plant his garden with varieties
of vegetable seedlings?
3. What is asked in the problem?
4. What are the given facts that can help you
solve the problem?
5. What can you say about Mang Pedro?
To solve the given problem, we must find the
distance around Mang Pedro’s vegetable
garden.
Perimeter is the total distance around a
closed plane figure.
To determine the perimeter of the vegetable
garden of Mang Pedro, follow these steps:
1. Identify the length and the width of the
garden.
Length= 50 m Width = 20 m
2. Add the measurements of all the sides of the
garden.
Since the figure has 4 sides, we say that
Perimeter = length + length + width + width.
Then P= l + l + w + w
3.Using the formula you developed, substitute
the measurement of each side then add.
P = l + l + w + w
P= 50 m + 50 m + 20 m + 20m
P = 140 m
Therefore, the perimeter or the distance
around Mang Pedro’s vegetable garden is 140
meters.
Finding the Perimeter of Parallelograms
Using Another Formula
• Follow this formula.
P = (2 × length + (2 x width)
Ex. 1. Perimeter of
the parallelogram
shape garden.
• Therefore, the perimeter of the parallelogram
shaped garden is still the same even though
you use another formula.
P = (2 x Length) + (2 x Width)
P = (2 x 50 m) + (2 x 20 m)
P = 100 m x (40 m)
P= 140 m

Perimeter of a
Rhombus
DAY 2
Do you already
have an idea on
how to solve for the
perimeter of a
rhombus?
ACTIVITY 5
Today you will learn
about how to calculate
the perimeter of
rhombuses and
understand how the
lengths of their sides
contribute to the
perimeter.
•A rhombus is a parallelogram with 4 equal sides.
•Its opposite sides are equal.
Read, analyze and solve the story
problem.
Problem:
Mang Jose built a rhombus-
study table for his son. The
sides of the table measure 35
cm. What is the perimeter of
the table?
Answer the following questions:
1. What did Mang Jose build?
2. What is the shape of the table?
3. What is asked in the problem?
4. What are the given facts that can help you
solve the problem?
How do we find the perimeter of the
rhombus table above?
To find the perimeter of a rhombus table as
illustrated above, follow these steps:
1. Identify the measurement of the side.
Side = 35 c
2. Since a rhombus has 4 equal sides, simply
add all the lengths of the sides.
P= Side + side + side + side
P= s + s + s + s
P= s + s + s + s
P = 35 cm + 35 cm + 35 cm 35 cm
P = 140 cm
Therefore, the perimeter of the figure
above is 140 cm.
ACTIVITY 6
Finding the Perimeter of Rhombus
Using Another Formula
• Follow this formula.
P = 4 x side or P= 4 x s or 4s
Ex. Perimeter of the
rhombusstudy-table
• Therefore, the perimeter of the rhombus
study table is still 140 cm even though you
use another formula.
Side length= 35 cm
P = 4 x side
P = 4 x 35 cm
P = 140 cm

At the end of the lesson the learners will
be able to:
1. give the formula in finding the perimeter of a
trapezoid
2. solve for the perimeter of trapezoids
following the correct formula
Learning Objectives
Perimeter of a
Trapezoid
DAY 3
Do you already
have
an idea on how to
solve for the
perimeter
of a trapezoid?
ACTIVITY 9
Today you will learn
about how to calculate
the perimeter of
trapezoids and
understand how the
lengths of their sides
contribute to the
perimeter.
•A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with only one pair of
opposite sides that are parallel.
Read, analyze and solve the story
problem.
Problem:
Mrs. Mary Jane Reyes wants to stay fit, so she
walks around the trapezoidal park every day
before going to school. The park measures 35
m, 40 m, 55 m and 70 m respectively. What is
the total distance that Mrs. Camello covers
every day?
MATH 4_Q1_WEEK3 powerpoint presentations
Answer the following questions:
1.Who walks around the park every day
before going to school?
2. What is the shape of the park?
3.What is asked in the problem?
4. What are the given facts that can help you
solve the problem?
To solve the given problem, we must know the
measurements of all the sides of the park.
The lengths of the sides of the trapezoidal
park are as follows:
Side 1 = 35 m
Side 2 = 40 m
Side 3 = 55 m
Side 4 = 70 m
Questions: 1.What to do with the sides?
• Add the measurements of all the sides.
P= side1 + side 2 + side 3 + side 4
P= s1 + s2 + s3 + s4
P= 35 m + 40 m + 55 m + 70 m
P = 200 m
Therefore, the perimeter of the
trapezoidal park is 200 m.
How do we find the perimeter of this figure?
• To find the perimeter of a trapezoid, simply add
all the lengths of the sides.
P= Side1 + side2 + side3 + side4
P = 35 m + 40 m (two parallel sides) + 55 m + 70 m
(Two non-parallel sides)
P= 75 m + 125 m = 200 m
Therefore, the perimeter of the figure above is 200
m.
ACTIVITY 10
Finding the Perimeter of Trapezoid
Using Another Formula
P = side 1 + side 2 (parallel sides) + side 3 + side 4
(nonparallel sides)
P = side 1 + side 2 35 cm + 40 cm (parallel sides) + 55
cm + 70 cm (non-parallel sides)
P = 75 cm + 125 cm
P 200 cm
Therefore, the perimeter of the trapezoidal park is
still 200 cm even though you use another formula.

problem
