The mathematics lecture discussed formulas for calculating the volume and surface area of cones and trapezoids. It provided the volume of a cone formula as V=πr^2h/3 and worked through an example of finding the volume of a cone with a height of 10cm and diameter of 18cm. The surface area of a cone formula was given as A=πr(r+√h^2+r^2) and the surface area of a trapezoid formula was provided as TSA=h(a+b)/2, where h is the height, a and b are the lengths of the parallel sides.
