in writing or otherwise but does not include a
cinematograph film;

choreography, and performances.

10. Copyright in
Musical Works
According to sec 2 (p) of copyright act 1957,
musical work means a work consisting of music
and includes any graphical notation of such work
but does not include any words or any action
intended to be sung, spoken or performed with the
music;
Musical works include compositions, lyrics, and
arrangements.
Protection covers:
I. Original melodies, lyrics, and arrangements.
II. Rights to perform, reproduce, or distributed
recordings.
Exceptions:
