This document provides guidelines for MEDTEQ's 7th Call for Projects, which will fund innovative medical technology research projects in collaboration with industry partners located in Quebec. Projects must have a technology readiness level of 1-3 or 4-6+ and will receive different levels of public funding depending on the TRL. The guidelines specify the funding amounts, required number of partners, eligible expenses, intellectual property policies, co-funding opportunities, priority research themes, and submission/confirmation calendar.

- 1. TRL ?! It’s your technology’s readiness level. TRL 1‐3: From the basic principles to the proof of concept. TRL 4‐6 +: From the experimental verification to the demonstration in a representative environment. Financial support and partnership TRL 1‐3 TRL 4‐6 + MEDTEQ contribution (max.) 40 % 20 % Up to 500k $/year for 3 years: 1.5M $ per project Public contribution (max.) 80 % 60 % In‐kind industrial contribution for co‐funding only eligible (max 20%) Industrial partner(s) (min.) 2 1 Research institution (min.) 1 1 Projects wanted Innovative research projects related to medical technologies in collaboration with the industry. The projects should have direct economic benefits in Québec. Industrial partners Every project must have at least 1 industrial partner that has R&D and/or manufacturing activities in Québec. The other(s) company(s) can be Canadian or foreign. All partners must be/become member of MEDTEQ. Eligible expenses The expenditures incurred in Québec are eligible. The funds are transferred to the lead researcher through his research institution. Intellectual property (IP) The IP agreement is negotiated between the participants of every project.
