Introduction
Introduction to NGO
Save The Children, is an international non-governmental organization that promotes children's
rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries. It was established in
the United Kingdom in 1919 in order to improve the lives of children through better education,
health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing
emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. Save
the Children has been working to assist the children in Bangladesh
since 1970.It has been working in Meherpur District since
2007.
Vision
Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development
and participation.
Mission
Our mission is to inspire breakthrough in the way the world treats children and to achieve
immediate and lasting change in their lives.
Objective
‘‘Children in Meherpur learn and develop to their full potential’’

About Community Development Project
I am very happy that I have worked with such a good NGO.I have been working there from 1st
June 2018 to 15th July 2018.I feel so proud that I have given something to my community.
I have played catalyst role. I have divided my work time in four parts.
 Giving clothes to poor children in EID-UL-FITURE(1st

I have tried my best to help children .I do believe that,

Objectives of CDP
Like other developing country Bangladesh is also facing some social problems which is
hindering in children growth, education and health and their welfare. So we have to find out
some problems and best solution which will help them to improve their life style, and will have
long impact in their lives.
I. To aware the people: The main objective of community development is working to
make the people aware from various problems in a community which hinders children
growth, education and health.
II. All sided development: Community program is interested in all aspects of a community.
The development is necessary in these places as a whole in education, health, and welfare
of people.
III. Change in thinking: One of the objectives of community development programs are
changing of pattern and style of community people. It gives new directions to the
changing life style. It helps to create the acquaintances among them, to following the
positive thinking about the children.
IV. Solve community problems: Different problems faced by community people may be
solved due to the start of such programs in the affected areas. The community also give
hand to government for help them in development and growth.
V. To motivate people: Programs are working for the motivation of community people.
Social organizers are employed in various sectors for their arousal and working for
community welfare and betterment of humanity.

Need and Scope of the Project
I. Child Education: Bangladesh is a developing country. People here lives under
the poverty lines, so they are not fulfilling their basic need. They are not aware of
child education. We inspires them to give their children at least Primary
Education. If they educate their children it will have great impact on their lives as
well as their parents’ lives.
II. Health Education: We provide health education to children and their family. It
will help them to become healthy. They have learnt how to use toilet, how to
wash hands properly.
III. Sex education: We have given sex education to adolescent children. We gave
sanitary napkin to girls, we have taught them how to use sanitary napkin.
IV. Clothes to Poor Children: During EID Festival we have gave clothes to poor
children.
V. Awareness: We aware guardian about our social problems and ensure their help
towards community. So it will help children to get a better environment.

Functional Process
Save the Children works in around 120 countries to save child life, to reduce their vulnerability,
to ensure them a happy & healthy life and help them to fulfill their potential. The scenario is no
indifferent in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, Save the Children is always with the children and
works for their every betterment through multiple and multidimensional approaches.
They have divided their works in Three parts.

How we work
We have pre-primary school, here we teach children. Here we introduce them with Bengali
alphabet, English alphabet, Mathematics. They learn counting, spelling, sentence making,
poem. We teach them in a way that they can be habituated with school environment. So that in
next year when they will admit in primary school they will not face any problem.
Basic Education Program
I. In Meherpur District now
we have 48 Pre-primary
school.
II. We have trained 60 people
as a teacher.
III. Now we have 875 Boys
students and 565 Girls
students.
IV. We have 30 students in Per
Primary School.

Health Care Program
We are running some health care program. Such as
I. Arsenic Problem: We aware people and children about Arsenic problem. How they can
be cured, how they will identify which water is safe. If deep Tubule is in Green color
that means this is safe, if it is in Red in color that means it’s dangerous.
II. Sanitary Latrines: We have told them how to use Sanitary Latrines, How to clean it,
How to wash Hands after using Latrines.
III. Food Habit: We aware people about their children’s food habit, how they will get proper
nutrition, how to make balanced food. We specially requested them to make sure that
their children has taken Breakfast before going to school and they also take their lunch
Box with them.
IV. Providing Filter: We provide filter for Safe Drinking water. We have already provide 8
Water filter in Meherpur.
5 Process of Health Care Program

Adolescent Program
Currently we are running adolescent club for students aged group between 13 to 19 years old. In
this club they learnt about sex education. Such as
I. Menstrual Cycle: We teach girls about Menstruation, what to do, not to do.
How to use Sanitary napkin, how to handle this things in a hygienic way.
II. Night fall: We aware adolescent Male Children about Night fall. It’s not a
problem. Night fall is one of the growing health concern for young men,
adolescent mainly. Commonly known as Wet Dreams, Night falls mean
involuntary flow of semen you are sleep at night or early morning.
III. Reproductive health: We educate people about reproductive health.
Reproductive health refers to diseases, disorders and conditions that affect the
functioning of the male and female reproductive systems during all stages of life.
IV. Child Marriage: We aware parents about Child Marriage. What happen that
time? It increase the risks death of
new born baby and Mother. Its bad
effect.
V. Stitching Training: We provide
stitching training to them. By this
they can earn money also, they can
contribute money to their family.

Facts and Figures
Save the Children directly reaches more than 12 million children and
adults in Bangladesh through implementation of over 90 projects in all
64 districts of Bangladesh. Our 800+ highly skilled staff and over 65
partner organizations are instrumental in ensuring delivery of high
quality programs that address the needs and rights of children and their
communities.
In save the children NGO Meherpur currently 68 Staffs are working.
18 are females and 49 are male.
We have 48 Pre-primary school. We have
trained 60 teachers. Currently 1440 students are
studding here, 875 are boys and 565 are girls’
students.

Conclusion
In recent years, a number of social forces have changed community life and the expectation for
young people. In Bangladesh main problem is poverty .People are living below poverty line.
Children are deprived of basic education, they are having health issues, and they are not getting
proper food. So now Bangladesh government is working to help her people. Besides that now a
days NGO are working for helping those children. So they need volunteers man power. Through
community development project they are getting help by us. So we should contribute something
to our community that will not make our community but also the entire world.

It was established in the United Kingdom in 1919 in order to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. Save the Children has been working to assist the children in Bangladesh since 1970.It has been working in Meherpur District since 2007. Vision Our vision is a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. Mission Our mission is to inspire breakthrough in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. I have played catalyst role. I have divided my work time in four parts.  Giving clothes to poor children in EID-UL-FITURE(1st June to 10th June)  Counselling Pre-Primary school children(11th June to 20th June)  Health Education(21th June to 30th June)  Adolescent Development Program (1st July to 15th July I have tried my best to help children .I do believe that, ‘’Children are the world’s most valuable resources and its best hope for the future’’

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT,PARVEJ AHANAF 8 Objectives of CDP Like other developing country Bangladesh is also facing some social problems which is hindering in children growth, education and health and their welfare. So we have to find out some problems and best solution which will help them to improve their life style, and will have long impact in their lives. I. To aware the people: The main objective of community development is working to make the people aware from various problems in a community which hinders children growth, education and health. II. All sided development: Community program is interested in all aspects of a community. The development is necessary in these places as a whole in education, health, and welfare of people. III. Change in thinking: One of the objectives of community development programs are changing of pattern and style of community people. It gives new directions to the changing life style. It helps to create the acquaintances among them, to following the positive thinking about the children. IV. Solve community problems: Different problems faced by community people may be solved due to the start of such programs in the affected areas. The community also give hand to government for help them in development and growth. V. To motivate people: Programs are working for the motivation of community people. Social organizers are employed in various sectors for their arousal and working for community welfare and betterment of humanity.

People here lives under the poverty lines, so they are not fulfilling their basic need. They are not aware of child education. We inspires them to give their children at least Primary Education. If they educate their children it will have great impact on their lives as well as their parents’ lives. II. Health Education: We provide health education to children and their family. It will help them to become healthy. They have learnt how to use toilet, how to wash hands properly. III. Sex education: We have given sex education to adolescent children. We gave sanitary napkin to girls, we have taught them how to use sanitary napkin. IV. Clothes to Poor Children: During EID Festival we have gave clothes to poor children. V. Awareness: We aware guardian about our social problems and ensure their help towards community. So it will help children to get a better environment.

The scenario is no indifferent in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, Save the Children is always with the children and works for their every betterment through multiple and multidimensional approaches.   • 12. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT,PARVEJ AHANAF 12 How we work We have pre-primary school, here we teach children. Here we introduce them with Bengali alphabet, English alphabet, Mathematics. They learn counting, spelling, sentence making, poem. We teach them in a way that they can be habituated with school environment. So that in next year when they will admit in primary school they will not face any problem. Basic Education Program I. In Meherpur District now we have 48 Pre-primary school. II. We have trained 60 people as a teacher. III. Now we have 875 Boys students and 565 Girls students. IV. We have 30 students in Per Primary School. 4Pre-Primary School

How they can be cured, how they will identify which water is safe. If deep Tubule is in Green color that means this is safe, if it is in Red in color that means it’s dangerous. II. Sanitary Latrines: We have told them how to use Sanitary Latrines, How to clean it, How to wash Hands after using Latrines. III. Food Habit: We aware people about their children’s food habit, how they will get proper nutrition, how to make balanced food. We specially requested them to make sure that their children has taken Breakfast before going to school and they also take their lunch Box with them. IV. Providing Filter: We provide filter for Safe Drinking water. We have already provide 8 Water filter in Meherpur. 5 Process of Health Care Program

In this club they learnt about sex education. Such as I. Menstrual Cycle: We teach girls about Menstruation, what to do, not to do. How to use Sanitary napkin, how to handle this things in a hygienic way. II. Night fall: We aware adolescent Male Children about Night fall. It’s not a problem. Night fall is one of the growing health concern for young men, adolescent mainly. Commonly known as Wet Dreams, Night falls mean involuntary flow of semen you are sleep at night or early morning. III. Reproductive health: We educate people about reproductive health. Reproductive health refers to diseases, disorders and conditions that affect the functioning of the male and female reproductive systems during all stages of life. IV. Child Marriage: We aware parents about Child Marriage. What happen that time? It increase the risks death of new born baby and Mother. Its bad effect. V. Stitching Training: We provide stitching training to them. By this they can earn money also, they can contribute money to their family. 6Adolescent Club

Our 800+ highly skilled staff and over 65 partner organizations are instrumental in ensuring delivery of high quality programs that address the needs and rights of children and their communities. In save the children NGO Meherpur currently 68 Staffs are working. 18 are females and 49 are male. We have 48 Pre-primary school. We have trained 60 teachers. In Bangladesh main problem is poverty .People are living below poverty line. Children are deprived of basic education, they are having health issues, and they are not getting proper food. So now Bangladesh government is working to help her people. Besides that now a days NGO are working for helping those children. So they need volunteers man power. Through community development project they are getting help by us. So we should contribute something to our community that will not make our community but also the entire world.
