What Is Peer Screening? Peer Screening is a series of techniques that allows prospect researchers to find new connections between people you know and people you would like to know
Why would I do this? Major gift fund raising for most organizations relies only partly on the validity of its mission. It also relies on the strength of its relationship with key volunteers and major donors.
Why would I do this? Your current donors and key volunteers are the best advertisement for your organization Your current donors and key volunteers may be underutilized, and this is an opportunity to bring them closer to your organization. Your current donors and key volunteers are your most likely bridge to “friends you don’t know yet”
But how will my board feel about this? Many researchers and major gift officers have concerns about asking their friends for help However, board members, major donors and key volunteers are the people who are most likely to champion your organization. A well prepared volunteer is the best fund raiser.
