MirrorOP
Control4
The basics of:
&
MirrorOp and Control 4 work in tandem to allow you to project
your projects onto all our various TV screens. Control 4
connects you directly with the TV, and MirrorOp then projects
your device's screen (typically a laptop or tablet) onto the TV.
It's a rather handy tool that allows you to easily share your
work and collaborate with fellow CDPeeps. Let's get started!
To start, click on the little Windows logo in the bottom left of
the screen and search for Control 4.
Control 4 allows you to change and control to
the various inputs that we have at CDP that
include cable TV, digital signage, WePresent,
Apple TV, and Bluray player. As this is the
software that directly contacts the TV and
allows you access, it will be the first one you
activate.
The Control 4 window will then pop up. Click on
the room name at the top.
Once on the screen for that particular room, select the
TV and in the drop down menu, click "wePresent".
This will bring up a list of rooms to choose from.
For this example, we'll use the Employee Lounge.
MirrorOp will automatically open. And boy, is it simple to use.
Now, you have to open MirrorOp on your device. Go back down to the little
Windows logo in the bottom left of the screen, and this time search for MirrorOp.
So now that Control 4 is connected to the TV you wish to use, the screen of
the TV will become black, with only its name, IP address, and code.
Make a note of the code (it changes every
time) and scurry on back to your device.
Now, you can either enter the IP address
of your selected TV into the text box that
says “Input hostname or IP”.
A pop up window will then appear, asking you for
the TV’s passcode. Enter the code you jotted down
from the TV and then click the blue “OK” button.
But the easiest way is to simply hover your arrow
over the TV screen you wish to use, and click the
blue “Connect” button that appears.
MirrorOp will almost immediately sync
with the TV, and once it does, a little
control panel will appear on your device.
Go ahead and click the play arrow to
project your screen onto the TV.
And voila! You have officially projected
your device's screen onto the TV.
You can now navigate on your device like you normally would, and
any and everything you do will be magnified on the TV.
When you're done, click on the upsidedown arrow and bring up the
list of TV screens. The one you’re currently connected to will have a
little blue circle with a check right next to it.
Hover over it, and the little blue circle will turn red, and the check mark
will be replaced by a horizontal white line. Click on that little red circle.
Your device will automatically be disconnected from the TV.
And there you have it! Feel free to play around with the screens to get
the feel of them. And as always, don’t hesitate to ask questions. :)
