Mobile Device as a Smart Metering Display

Oleksandr Lobunets presented on using mobile devices as smart metering displays at the UMIC Workshop on Future Mobile Applications. He outlined two cases - a smart metering display app for iPhone that allows users to view energy consumption data in real-time and visualize usage patterns, and a BSCWSense app that enables monitoring of sensor data through QR code recognition and data visualization. The talk discussed technologies for prototyping these apps and considerations around data management, visualization, and future work regarding community features and alternative platforms like iPad.
