Procedures
CLASS 1
Warm-up (5’)
Purpose: to greet students. To ask about how they are and to talk about what they did yesterday. To
establish connection between Ss’ previous knowledge and the new one.
I’ll start showing students a picture of London using the interactive dashboard Miro and I’ll let them guess
the name of the city.
T: Look at this picture, where is it?
Ss: London! (I can imagine that they are all going to guess and talk at the same time)
T: Great! In which country is it located?
I’ll wait for students’ answers. The one I’d expect is: England.
After that, I’ll show them some pictures about my trip to Europe.
T: Look at this, who is this person in the picture?
Ss: You! Camila!
TallerPrácticaDocente

T: That’s right! That’s me. Look at this one…
I’ll showthemseveral picturesinwhichtheywouldsee me indifferent cities and doing different things and
I’ll ask them “Have you visited…?” every time I show them a photo. Then I’ll tell them:
T: I have visited 17 cities in Europe. This is the best life experience I have ever lived!!
Transition: Alright, so now…let’s talk about life experiences. Look at the following pictures…
Presentation (15’)
Purpose:tointroduce a newgrammartopic – The presentperfectsimple
On one side of the dashboard,I’ll show Ss 8 picturesof differentactivities.Onthe otherside, there will be
the name of the actions.Ss will have tomatchthe actionsto the pictures. They’llhave aworksheet, butwe
can all work togetherinMiroplatform.
T: Look atpicture N°1, whatdo you see? What’sthe action?

Thomy:I thinkit is playing instruments
T: Well done!
Afterwe finishthe activity,I’ll askSssome questionsandif they answer“yes”,I’ll write anaffirmative
sentence inthe interactiveboard.
T: Have you ever travelled by plane?
Ss: No.
T: Okay,haveyou ever acted in a schoolplay?
Mily: Yes!
T: Great! Let me write thesentence on this board.
TallerPrácticaDocente
PrimaryLevel - DidacticUnit
6
After writing the sentences, I l’ll give Ss some time to think about the structure and I’ll encourage them to
produce some sentences. At this point, Ss will notice that the verbs end with the –ed form.
T: Now, let’s continue with more questions? Ivo, have you ever tried scuba-diving?
Ivo: No. Never.
T: Okay, so help me, please! I want to write that sentence on the board.
At thispoint,I’ll expect my students to notice they have to add the word “not” between the verb have and
the p.p. I’m sure they will do it correctly because they how English sentences work in the negative. They
know they have to add “NOT”.
Then, I’ll ask
T: What happens if I want to talk about someone else? For example, Santy and play and instrument.
Thomy:
Transition: Well, that was great!
Practice (10’)
Purpose: to play a game and practice the grammar pattern
For this stage, I’ll make Ss play a game in which they will have to order the words to make sentences. For
this, theywill use theirhomemade blackboards. At the beginning of the virtual encounters, I asked them to
buildtheirownboardsusinga transparentdocumentstorage baganda white sheetof paper. Every time we
play games in which they have to write, they use it. So, they will have to use it one more time.
TallerPrácticaDocente

I’ll show them a the following,
To playthisgame,I’ll showthemone stickynote in whichthey’ll see words. They’ll have 30 seconds to order
the words to make a correct sentence. The first one to finish the sentence earns one point.
Note:usingthese homemade boardsencouragesSstoparticipate inclass despite they don’t like doing it. In
this way, they don’t have to talk, just write.

Production (10’)
Purpose: to make Ss write sentences using the new grammar structure.
Ss will be askedtowrite three sentences about their best accomplishments in their lives and as homework
they will have to share their work on Padlet. I’ll show them an example.
T: Look at this, these are my 3 greatest achievements. You’ll have to do the same.
Transition: Unfortunately we don’t have much time…
Closure (2’)
To say goodbye to Ss.
T: Okay everyone, that is all for now. Hope you have enjoyed the class! I’ll see you next week, all right?
Goodbye!!
CLASS 2
Purpose:tointroduce the use of irregularverbsinpresentperfect simple sentences.
I’ll recorda videoexplainingthe instructionsforthe activities.
Activity 1 – Ss will be askedtoreada textinwhichtheywill see how we formthe presentperfectsimple with
irregular verbs. After that they will have to complete some reading comprehension activities.

Activity 2 – Ss will be askedtodo an article like the one they’ve readbefore.Theycandoit on Canvaand
thentheycan share it on Padlet.

11
CLASS 3
Purpose: to play games in a different way and improve Ss’ communicative skills.
Activity 1 – 2 truths and 1 lie. Ss will be asked to share a video on Whatsapp telling two truths and one lie
about themselves. The idea is to set a time and be online on Whatsapp altogether. For example, the first
student sends the video and his/her classmates will have to guess which sentences are true and the one
whichisnot. Theycan senda voice note or theycan write.Inthiswaytheywill be practicingtheirwritingand
speaking skills.
I consider that this is a different way to engage Ss on communicating in a real way. They will be playing a
game, they will want to win, but they will also be improving their language skills.
Activity 2 – Play the memorycircle. Afterplayingthe game 2truths and 1 lie,I’ll tell Ss that I am going to say
a sentence telling something that I have never done before. Then one of my Ss will have to repeat my
sentence tellingwhatIhaven’tdone and something that he/she hasn’t done. The next student will have to
remember the sentences, repeat them and add one about himself/herself. In this way, we can have
something like this:
T: I haven’t danced tango. Now, it is your turn Ivo.
Ivo: She hasn’t danced tango and I haven’t played rugby. Thomy, your turn.
Thomy: She hasn’t danced tango, he hasn’t played rugby and I haven’t watched “Cantando por un sueño”.
Ss will be allowed to use the negative form haven’t/hasn’t + pp or have + never.
Afterwe finishedbothactivities,I’ll recordmy phone screen with an app called screen recorder and I’ll also
make screenshots to show evidence that Ss have worked on the Whatsapp group.
Note:we’ll workonthe Whatsapp group we created a year ago. I always send Ss videos or pictures to learn
vocabulary. We usuallymake commentsatthe beginning of the class about the videos that we share on the
group, but we’ve neverdone somethinglike the activitiesIplanned for class 3, so I’m optimistic about this. I
thinkthey’ll enjoyworkinginthisway.Ialwayswanted to do something like this and now I have the chance
to do it.
CLASS 4
Purpose:toask and answerquestionsthroughagame.

PrimaryLevel - DidacticUnit
12
To do these activities, Sswill be askedtowatcha tutorial videoinwhichtheywill have the instructions.
Activity 1 – Have you ever…?
In thisactivity,I’ll askSsaround10 questionsusingthe pattern haveyou ever..? andI’ll give them20
questions. Theywillhave tolistentomyquestionsonthe videoandhave toputa checkmark nexttothe
questionstheyhave listenedto.Thentheyhave toanswersthem.
Activity 2 – For thisactivity, studentswill use the actionsfromthe previousone. Theyhave towrite positive
or negative sentencesaccordingtotheiranswersof the questions.Forexample,
Have you everslept more than 12 hours?
If they say “Yes, I have” they have to write a positive sentence. If they say “No, I haven’t” they will have to
write a negative sentence.
THINGS I HAVE DONE THINGS I HAVEN’T DONE
I have slept for more than 12 hours. I haven’t had a surgery.
