Mock Interview Questions for Channel 4
1. Tell me about yourself...
I am a punctual and hard working person who has been passionate for the media
industry since I can remember. Fromfirst choosing media at GCSE and now close to
completing my third year of the course in college, my interest in the industry has
continued to grow more and more and I believe will do for many years.
2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are that I am a determined person, in the workplace and outside, meaning
if I am perhaps working towards a deadline or simply completing a task, I always
remain determined to complete things on time and to the highest standard. As well as
this I am a keen learner and always remain positive when taking in new information
from others, allowing me to broaden my knowledge.
I believe my weaknesses are that I self-criticise and at times can be introverted, but I
know that working in a role I enjoy for a company like Channel 4, I will always be
passionate for my job and will be able to become more confident in myself.
3. Why do you want to work here?
Growing up, Channel 4 has always been the channel I continuously go back to. With the
UK’s biggest streaming serviceas well as creating some of my favourite shows like The
IT Crowd and Taskmaster, it would truly be great to be able to work for such a fantastic
company.
4. Wheredo you see yourself in 5 yearstime?
In five years I would love to still be working for Channel 4, hopefully in a higher role,
where I know I will be just as passionate as I currently amfor the company.
5. Describe a time where you were required to work in a team.
In college we were tasked with creatinga barbering video for the barberingcourse at
Sunderland College’sCity Campus, in which we had to filmand edit together the video
for students to use and learn from. This meant that in my group we needed to assign
roles and work together to ensure we got all of the footage necessary. We simply
assigned roles by asking each other which role we would each be comfortable in, this
way we were all happy with the outcome. Upon assigning roles, we began filming – two
of us filming and the other acting as director, making sure everything looked and was
correct. Working as a team, we were able to capture different angles and shot sizes,
ensuring variety in the final edit. We each completed a edit of the footageindividually
and were able to take inspiration fromone another in the process.
