The MDT (Modular Density Tool) is used to test formation pressure, temperature, and obtain fluid and water samples. It contains formation pressure and resistivity gauges, a pump out system, live fluid analyzer, sample chamber, and crystal quartz gauge. When using the MDT, points are selected for measuring formation pressure in oil, gas, and water zones. Interpretation of MDT data involves plotting a graph of formation pressure versus depth to identify contacts between gas, oil, and water zones based on their different density values.
