- 5. Animation Visual and audio effects keep the audience interested. When adding animation, be sure that it is not moving the whole time. This can be distracting for the audience.
- 6. Display Contrasting colors should be used because it is easier for the audience to read. You should also make sure the font is big enough for everyone in the classroom to see. Consider the students in the back! The presenter can control the speed of the presentation either manually or set a timer for each slide. If you are setting a timer, make sure you practice so the slides don’t continue on without you!
- 7. What not to do! When pictures are too large, they distract you from the important information on the slide. Also, the picture should always be relevant to the information you are talking about.
- 8. Extras Sometimes you want the whole classes attention to be solely on you and not on the information or pictures on the screen. A way to do this is to either press the B key on the keyboard and the whole screen will turn black, or you can press the W key and the screen will turn white instead. Limit graphics to those that are needed because too many pictures can be distracting.
