CYB 210 Module Two Packet Tracer Activity Guidelines and Rubric
Overview
The application of fundamental networking concepts provides the foundation for the increasingly complex task of designing and impleme
communication needs. In this activity, you will use Packet Tracer to perform the basic tasks of adding, connecting, and configuring devices
will need to modify an existing network by creating a new subnetwork and then add new systems to the reference network.
The image below is a logical diagram of the network for this activity.
The network topology details for this lab are located in the table below.

I. Modify the Marketing subnetwork.
Marketing subnetwork.
A. Add a new generic PC
new generic PC (labeled PC3_Marketing) and assign an IP address as indicated in the table above.
i. Drag a PC from the End Devices group in the lower left pane of Packet Tracer into the Marketing Network.
ii. Update the label to PC3_Marketing.
iii. Configure PC3_Marketing with the proper IP configuration, including an IP address or subnet mask for FastEthernet0 a
iv. Connect PC3_Marketing to the Marketing Switch by dragging a Copper Straight Through cable from the Connection gro
B. Add a new printer
new printer (labeled Printer1_Marketing) and assign an IP address as indicated in the table above.
i. Drag a printer from the End Devices group into the Marketing Network.
ii. Double-click to configure the label, IP address or subnet mask, and default gateway.
iii. Connect the printer with a Copper Straight Through Cable to the Marketing Switch.
II. Create and populate the Advertising subnetwork.
Advertising subnetwork.
A. Select a new and valid Ipv4 network address
valid Ipv4 network address with a correct subnet mask for the Advertising subnetwork. Indicate this on
i. Select an IP address from the Advertising Network to assign to the Advertising Gateway interface for Router0.
ii. Typically, this is the first usable address on the network.
iii. Configure the Advertising Gateway address on Router0.
iv. Assign the IP address to FastEthernet 1/0 on Router0.
v. Add a 2960 Switch from the Switches Group to the Advertising Network.
vi. Connect a Copper-Stright-Through cable from Router0 FastEthernet1/0 to any port on the Advertising switch.
B. Add a new generic PC

III. Test connections between devices in the Marketing and Advertising subnetworks. Submit three screenshots of ping tests
