Introduction
´Motion capture is the process of recording the movements of objects or people. It is used in
military, entertainment, sports, medical applications, and for validation of computer vision and
robots. In filmmaking and video game development, it refers to recording actions of human actors
and using that information to animate digital character models in 2-D or 3-D computer animation..
´In motion capture sessions, movements of one or more actors are sampled many times per
second. Whereas early techniques used images from multiple cameras to capture 3D movements,
often the purpose of motion capture is to record only the movements of the actor, not their visual
appearance. This animation data is mapped to a 3D model so that the model performs the same
actions as the actor. This process may be contrasted with the older technique of rotoscoping.
Camera movements can also be motion captured so that a virtual camera in the scene will pan,
tilt or dolly around the stage driven by a camera operator while the actor is performing. At the
same time, the motion capture system can capture the camera and props as well as the actor's
performance. This allows the computer-generated characters, images and sets to have the same
perspective as the video images from the camera. A computer processes the data and displays
the movements of the actor, providing the desired camera positions in terms of objects in the set.
Retroactively obtaining camera movement data from the captured footage is known as match
moving or camera tracking.
VISUAL STUDIO
´Visual Studio Code, also commonly referred to as VS Code, is a source-code editor
made by Microsoft for Windows, Linux and macOS. Features include support for
debugging, syntax highlighting, intelligent code completion, snippets, code
refactoring, and embedded Git.
´Visual Studio Code support users to change the theme, keyboard shortcuts,
preferences, and install extensions that add additional functionality.
´Visual Studio Code is a source-code editor that can be used with a variety of
programming languages, including Java, JavaScript, Go, Node.js, Python, C++, C, Rust
and Fortran.
Problem Definition
´Staff Member Salary
´Hardware Cost
´Licensed Software Cost
For managing studios we have to pay a
heavy amount of money for the following -
Must have additional knowledge about the
software used for motion detection
Large area is required for setting up a proper
studio
Project Objective
In addition, a very efficient and effective edge detection algorithm –
Canny’s Edge Detection – is also developed.

To develop a framework for motion detection and tracking in a
video using various approaches.
Based on the framework developed, it is also extended for the detection
of other features of a human face like eyes and nose
We will capture the motion of the body & save it as a file or further use by
different animators.

Motion detection with studios
vs Computer Vision
WE PROPOSE TO BUILD A WEB APPLICATION THAT HAS FOLLOWING
CAPABILITIES :-
Motion Capture
Efficient online motion capture application which reduces the studios work and captures motion of
body through a web cam and a laptop which can be implemented in games, movies, etc.
Motion capture technology allows one actor to play different multiple roles within a
single film.
Movies use motion capture for CG effects, in some cases replacing traditional cell animation, and
for completely computer generated creatures, such as King Kong, Hulk , Iron Man.
Complex movement and realistic physical interactions such as secondary animation, weight,
exchange of forces can be more easily recreated in a physically accurate manner.

Limitations
Specific hardware and software programs are required
to obtain and process and process the data.
The cost of the software and equipment, personnel
required can be prohibitive for small productions.
The results are limited to what can be performed within
the capture volume without adding extra editing of the
data.
Movements that does not follow the laws of physics
cannot be represented.
