Rational numbers include fractions, integers, and decimals. To multiply rational numbers, multiply the numerators and denominators. Dividing rational numbers is done by changing the division to multiplication and taking the reciprocal of the second number. Rational numbers can be simplified before or after multiplication and division.

This includes fractions that are reduced, fractions that can be reduced, mixed numbers, improper fractions, and even integers and whole numbers.
