This document discusses a multi-criteria decision model (MCDM) for evaluating maintenance practices and implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in Indian industries to enhance productivity, profitability, and quality while reducing non-value added costs. It identifies success factors necessary for TPM implementation and quantifies them using the Least Square Multi Attribute Decision Model (LSMADM) across alternative strategies such as corrective maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance. The findings emphasize the importance of prioritizing maintenance practices for optimal organizational performance and sustainable manufacturing systems.
