Tutorial 4: Lyrics and Chords LI: To use a “music processor,” like Word is a text editor. SC: align your lyrics with the notes in the staff; SC: add the chord symbols in the chord line; SC: change the length of the systems and generally clean up the document so it looks nice. All of these tasks can be done in an advanced level taking into consideration many rules in music. Our overall goal is to learn how to use MusEdit. So we can adjust things and consider why if necessary. In the end you will save your edited document and export another pgn file (name_year_This Old Man 4). Your edited document should look similar to the original one with the title line and the info line. The melody properly entered and handsomely spaced with stems in the correct direction. The chords will be entered correctly and aligned with when a musician should change the chord they are playing in musical time. Finally, the lyrics will be properly aligned with the melody notes and we’ll add verse two in the score on a new text line under verse one.
Task 4: Finishing up Adjust length of the systems. Clean up on your score. So far, I just need to delete some of the spaces in the info line to align this bit about England. Add the chords. Align the lyrics to the melody notes. Finally add verse 2. The last two lines of each verse are the same, so we only have to add lines to system 1 and system 2 complete this step.
