- 2. The main setting of a horror genre is located in a haunted house, normally features at night time, it is usually old and abandoned. This can be lead to the house being possessed by a ghost or sprite. Another good setting of a horror movie is located in a grave yard, this is because it links in with the idea of death and ghosts.
- 3. Some of the themes used in horror genres can be; childhood issues, supernatural, nightmares or suicide. These are all used because it relates to past experiences which is what the narrative of a horror genre is based on.
- 4. The main protagonist, often the victim/hero of the movie. The Villain, often a monster. The immoral teenagers that always get killed. The young generation, mainly used to create a spooky feel. Police officers that can either be good or bad. The supernatural.
- 5. Weapons, usually stabbing weapons, for example; a knife, axe and a chainsaw.
- 6. The narrative structure is basically how the story is told. In the horror genre the narrative usually ends up as a cliff-hanger and usually finishes in a never ending plot.
