Sharna Harrison
In this image the focus is on the subjects bright red lips. As the eye is drawn
immediately to the lips. In this photo the model is looking straight at the
photo whilst pushing her hair back. Because then when you have looked at
her lips the eye is then drawn to the top of her head where her hands are,
which then leads you to look at her eyes. The two main features being the
lips and eyes are the most prominent features of this photo because they
are the only two alternative colours. To make the subject of the photo stand
out i changed the aperture to 8.0 to make sure that the rest of the photo was
partly blurred to make it have a strong depth of field as the subject is quite
far away from the camera. The arms draw the eye to the face making the
arms the leading lines. Because the photo was taken with a white
background the light is stark. There is a triangle shape to the photo as the
subjects arms lead you to the main focus. This image is 3 dimensional from
the elbows up as there is lots going on, however, the lower half of the
subject is flat. Everything in this photograph has a very smooth texture to it,
for example, the skin looks flawless, and the hair is slightly course. I used
the 'Rule of thirds' to make sure that in the middle top square was the main
focus of the picture. I like this image because its moody, minimal and
modern. This photo makes me feel curious, wondering what the model is
thinking. Also i was trying to give the impression of colour, thought, and
reflection.

              ‘Anyone Fur Starbucks?’
• This photo is of Amy Donovan in a Faux fur coat and a Starbucks t-shirt. In this
photo Amy is about to push her hair behind her ear whilst the fur coat is being
pushed together. The title of this photograph is ‘Anyone Fur Starbucks?’. The
title changes the way you see the work because at first you are drawn to her red
lips and the green logo. But then when you read the title you realise that the
main focus of the photo is the Starbucks t-shirt and red lips. This photo reminds
me of memories with friends, sat drinking chocolate crèmes and coffee in
Starbucks in the winter. To create this picture I changed the aperture to 7.0 to
make sure there was a depth of field effect, as the hair is slightly blurred and the
edges of the coat are too. I took this picture free hand, I was originally going to
use a tripod but it worked better using free hand , as I could get the angle I
wanted. The leading lines in the photo are the vertical lines of the coat that
frame the main focus of the photo, which are the logo and the red lips. The light
used is my camera flash, this gives the red lips a shine which draws your eyes to
them, as they stand out because they're bright. The textures in this photo are the
softness of the fur coat, the smoothness of the coat, and the defiance of the red
lips. i like this picture because Starbucks is one of my favourite places to go to.
My favourite thing about this photo is the fact that the fur coat, starbucks top and
red lipstick all work together to create an effect. This photo makes the mood
    calm and relective.

‘I don’t want to grow up’
The image is of Amy blowing bubbles. The title of the photo is 'I don't want
to grow up'. The reasons behind the title is Amy is blowing bubbles, wearing
a Ramones t-shirt and 'I don't want to grow up' is actually a title to a
Ramones song. It is ironic that she is wearing a Ramones top and blowing
bubbles which is described in the title of the song. The theme of the work is
that whilst we grow grow older, we don't have to grow up. The materials
used in this photo are bubbles. I altered the aperture of my camera to frame
the bubbles and Ramones top, this creates a depth of field. Timing was
important in this photo so that i was able to take the picture of the bubble
being being blow and the one already blown. The light used was the flash
from the camera which caught the bubbles and the light can be seen
through the floating bubble as it passes through. There is a lot of circular
going on in the photo. The image is very 3 dimensional as the bubbles in the
foreground reflect the light, giving a 3 dimensional impression. i like the
image because it depicts someone having fun, we associate bubbles with
childhood and play. It makes me feel happy and peaceful. the colour of the
hair and t-shirt are dark, and the bubbles are multicoloured in contrast. The
darkness is a sign of ageing and bright multicolours we associate with
childhood.

                ‘My Melancholy Mate’
• This photograph is of Olivia Benson. The title of this photo is 'My melancholy
Mate'. You would look at the work and from the title you would look at the
sadness in her eyes. From her elbow up her arms lead you to her hands
(leading lines) to the rings on her fingers, and you wonder what is the
significance of the rings. Could these be an heirloom? Perhaps from
someone who is unfortunately no longer here and that may explain the
sadness. To create the mood I used Black and White photography
(monochrome). This picture is my representation of 'jeanfur' linked to David
Bailey. Black and white photography is often quite flat but in this case it
looks 3 dimensional. The texture of this photo is very smooth as there are
no sharp edges. I like the image because it is in black and white creating a
moody and melancholy as feel referring to the title. The story of the
photograph is in the eyes of the subject, someone who is sad at the loss of
    a loved one.
